Aloe vera plant has been used for medicinal and beauty purposes for thousands of years. It is believed that Aloe vera was one of secrets of Cleopatra for keeping her skin soft. In the ancient Greek, aloe vera was used in many therapeutic remedies.
Henna
Henna is a traditional Indian herb, which is a good natural conditioner and works great as hair loss treatment product.
Capsicum – It stimulates hair growth by 50% and increases flow of blood to the scalp. This herb is effective in preventing hair loss.
Dong Quai – Formation of DHT is the main cause of hair loss. Dong Quai contains phytoestrogens, which reduces the formation of DHT.
Part Used: Aloe Vera “extract” is made by pulverizing the whole leaves of the plant. Aloe juice is made from the inner leaf.
Common Use: Aloe supplements can be used for peptic ulcers and for gastro-intestinal health. Aloe has a moisturizing effect on the skin and is a common remedy for sunburn and skin irritation.
Care: Keep in sandy soil that is well drained. Potted plants need filtered sun or full shade.
Traditional Use
Aloe gel has been used to treat inflammation for more than 2,500 years. The fresh gel is widely used as a folk medicine for minor burns and sunburn, as well as minor cuts and scrapes. Aloe gel is also used in beverages commonly sold as “aloe juice”.
Current Status
Modern clinical use of aloe gel began in the 1930s, but favorable case histories did not provide conclusive evidence of its effectiveness. Recent studies have documented that aloe gel promotes wound healing and is of therapeutic value in thermal injuries and a variety of soft-tissue injuries.
