Growing Aloe plants

Because Aloe plants consist of 95% water, they are extremely frost tender. If they are grown outdoors in warm climates, they should be planted in full sun, or light shade. The soil should be moderately fertile, and fast draining. Established plants will survive a drought quite well, but for the benefit of the plant, water should be provided.

Because of their popularity, Aloe vera plants are available at almost every garden shop or nursery. Unless you live in area with a very mild climate, it’s best to leave your Aloe plant in the pot and place it near a window that gets a lot of sun. You can move the pot outdoors during the summer months.Aloe vera is a succulent, and as such, stores a large quantity of water within its leaves and root system.

Aloe vera is a plant.  Technically, it is a member of the lily family, although is looks more like a member of the cactus family.  In total, there are over 240 species of the aloe vera plant.  Aloe vera grows mainly in the dry areas of America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.  4 species of the 240 plus aloe vera species are used for nutritional and health purposes.  The most commonly used aloe vera plant is called the Aloe Barbadensis Miller.  Most of the aloe vera products on the market are produced from the Aloe Barbadensis Miller.

The gel from the inside of the aloe plant’s leaves is used in the United States and worldwide in cosmetics and skin treatments. Europeans use aloe as a laxative and digestion aid. The plant is a green spiny shrub that produces close to 25 leaves, forming an attractive rosette appearance.Aloe contains a component that acts against viruses such as the flu, chickenpox, and herpes and can also kill bacteria. Aloe also stops bowels from absorbing water. This speeds the passage and volume of the bowel’s contents, resulting in a laxative effect.

Aloe vera doesn’t need any introduction as it highly popular and widely used in the market. when we are talking about aloe vera plants they are mostly found in the regions of Africa but can be traced world wide according to climatic conditions.There are around 250 species of Aloe vera plants in the world. Aloe vera plant size varies from one inch to a highly complex and spread out colonies consisting of thousand of plants ranging from 2 foot diameter to more. The most commonly known species of ALoe vera plant is Aloe barbadensis.

Aloe Vera Gel - Wound Care Study

Aloe Life conducted an 18 month study in 1997 using the wound gel (also known as ultimate skin gel). The 24 patients in the study had stages I-IV pressure ulcer wounds with moderate to heavy amounts of exudate. Many patients were diabetic, receiving marginal nutrition support and had two or more wounds that were studied. The product application resulted in 100% success of promoting tissue repair at increased speed, decreased inflammation of the wound bed, self debridement, minimized any infection occurance, promoted healing in patients that had zero opportunity of resolution, saved limbs from amputation, saved patients from undergoing surgical procedures.
