Aloe vera extract is used by those patients suffering from irritable bowel and gastritis problems and provides positive results. The extract of aloe vera is also used to stimulate the immune system and decreases the allergy symptoms and respiratory infections. When the aloe vera gel is used along with the aloe vera extract and injected into the human bloodstream, it diffuses the capabilities of red blood cells and multiplies the oxygen transportation.
The aloe plant is the source of two herbal preparations: aloe gel (AG) and aloe latex. Aloe gel is often called “aloe vera and refers to the clear gel or mucilaginous substance produced by parenchymal cells located in the central region of the leaf. Diluted aloe gel is commonly referred to as “aloe vera extract. The gel is composed mainly of water (99%) and mono- and polysaccharides (25% of the dry weight of the gel).
The most prominent monosaccharide in AG is mannose-6-phosphate, and the most common polysaccharides are called gluco-mannans (beta-(1,4) acetylated mannan). They are long-chain sugars containing glucose and mannose. A prominent gluco-mannan named acemannan has been isolated and is being marketed as Carrisyn. Recently a glycoprotein with antiallergic properties, called alprogen, was isolated from AG. In addition, a novel anti-inflammatory compound, C-glucosyl chromone, has recently been isolated from AG.
Disclosed are compositions which include creatine and Aloe Vera extract, for the purpose of increasing the creatine supply deposits of human beings, and to improve their intestinal health. The composition is presented as a drink, either constituted from a dry powder or in liquid form. Also disclosed is a method of increasing the stability of a drink or semi-liquid solid comprising creatine and Aloe Vera extract by storing the compositions below ambient temperature, preferably 0-8° C.
The active constituents for aloe’s laxative effect are known as anthraquinone glycosides, which are converted by intestinal bacteria into aglycones. The active compounds responsible for aloe’s wound healing properties are less well-described but are likely a combination of several saccharide molecules. When the leaf is consumed, the high fiber content of the plant has been shown to exert beneficial effects on cardiac disease risk factors by reducing blood levels of cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose.
This aloe vera extract is solublized in oil to be readily added to any non-water formulation. Aloe Vera is a great skin conditioner, softener and has soothing benefits. Historically it has been used to treat sunburn and inflammation. It can be used in creams, lotions, and facial tonics.
